ROME – A city to be transformed and made accessible not only for inhabitants, tourists and major events, but redesigned with citizens starting from the culture of inclusion, of all. The Architecture Festival returns from 11 to 19 June in Rome with a full calendar of events and many big names, from Mario Botta to Renzo Piano, from Jette Cathrin Hoppart to Marlon Blackwell for an edition that will move among the most emblematic of the urban regeneration of the capital, discussing changes, sustainability and new challenges, together with exponents of culture and entertainment, from Maura Cossutta to Massimo Bray and Valerio Mastandrea, and the representatives of the institutions, from the Minister of Culture Franceschini to the mayor of Roma Gualtieri and the president of the Lazio Region Nicola Zingaretti. Conceived and created by the Order of Architects of Rome and its province, with the patronage of the Municipality of Rome and the Metropolitan City of Rome, the Lazio Region, the Roma Tre and Sapienza universities, Coni and the Italian Paralympic Committee, the Festival will address a theme every day. It starts every morning, from Monday to Friday, at the Casa dell’Architettura in the Esquilino district with coffee, croissant and press review in Sveja, to continue with round tables, author lessons and, every day until the evening, conferences on specific topics. In the afternoon, the Festival also moves to the Ostiense district for neighborhood lunches, city talks and DJ sets. During the weekend there is still space for debates, exhibitions, evenings and meetings. Many guests, from Mario Botta (June 13) to Cino Zucchi (June 14), passing through Massimiliano Fuksas (June 17) and Renzo Piano who anticipates, with a video contribution, the talk with Massimo Alvisi (June 16). And again, Jette Cathrin Hopp, director of the Norwegian studio Sn ›hetta, who will talk about innovative and visionary projects, the American Marlon Blackwell, known for public projects in the fields of education, health and leisure and Indonesian Eko Prawoto, famous for his projects in urban suburbs and for post-earthquake reconstructions. Space also for street art with Solo and Diamond, Roman artists active in Italy and abroad, and for the photographic storytelling project curated by Scenario and Zero EU to get to know Luci su Roma together with the studies.
Among the protagonists of politics, the Minister of Culture Dario Franceschini, the Mayor of Rome Roberto Gualtieri, the Councilor for Culture of Rome Miguel Gotor, Walter Tocci and the President of the Lazio Region Nicola Zingaretti. Space also for mini-mayors: the presidents of all the municipalities of the capital gathered to discuss neighborhoods and future visions. On inclusion, equal opportunities, culture and work, Maura Cossutta, president of the International House of Women, the philosopher Maura Gancitano of Tlon, the director general Treccani Massimo Bray, the national network Lo state of places, the writer and anthropologist Franco La Cecla, will speak. the sociologist Aldo Bonomi, the blogger Giulia Blasi and the president of the Tetrabondi Foundation Valentina Perniciaro who for the opening of the Festival on Saturday 11 June also presents her book with the actor and director Valerio Mastandrea. Participation in all the events of the Festival is open to all and free.
