In Tanzania the use of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data is implemented. Thanks to an Italian company

Judiciary of TanzaniaJudiciary of the United Republic of Tanzania, has entrusted to Almawavean Italian company listed on the Euronext Growth Milan market and part of the Group Almavivaleader inArtificial intelligence (AI), in natural language analysis and solutions Big Datathe automatic transcription and translation service of the trial sessions of its own courts, in the main cities of the country.

The Italian company chosen for automate transcriptions and translations of court proceedings of the African country, in Swahili and English. The framework agreement has a total duration of 4 years. The contract, for the first 12 months, is worth 1.1 million euros.

The overall program of the African institution is called Citizen-Centric Judicial Modernization and Justice Service Delivery (Citizen-friendly judicial modernization and provision of justice services) and is funded by the World Bank, through theInternational Development Association (IDA) aimed at investments in the justice system to improve the efficiency of the courts and modernize their administration with a view to e-Justice and is part of a broader ceiling worth 155 million dollars.
