Martina Patti, because she killed her daughter: here are what could have been the causes and situations that would have prompted the woman to make an act of this tragedy.
Martina Patti, because he killed his daughter Elena
Elena Del Pozzo was killed by her mother Martina Patti, 23 years. The woman confessed to the murder during the second interrogation which took place in the Prosecutor’s Office after the finding of the body of the little girl of just four years in the countryside of Mascalucia, in Catania.
During the interrogation, the 23-year-old admitted to murdering her daughter but did not say a word about it motive that pushed her to make the atrocious gesture. Meanwhile, investigators are investigating in order to reconstruct the family dynamics which could be at the basis of the murder. In consideration of the information collected so far, little Elena was born from the relationship that Martina Patti had with her partner at the time of her, Alessandro Del Pozzi. At the time of the baby’s birth, the woman was only 18 years old.
The relationship between Patti and Del Pozzo, however, was concluded shortly after giving birth as the 23-year-old had decided to start a relationship with another person. Following the separation, Elena’s father first moved to Germany to then return to Sicily where he met his current partner. This last evolution would have triggered a sort of f in Martinaorte and probable jealousy.
The first hypotheses: from depression to psychosis
Elena’s mom explained that she found herself in a confused state: “I only remember the knife, but I don’t remember anything else, it wasn’t me, it wasn’t me.” Indeed, the woman’s lawyer, the lawyer Gabriele Celesti, spoke of “a dramatic interrogation of a destroyed and very tried woman who has done something that not even she thought she could do “acting as if ‘Someone had taken over her”. Proving itself ‘Anything but cold and calculating. I’ll have my client meet a well-known psychiatrist – added the lawyer – to verify its conditions and then we will decide on the appraisal. I must acknowledge great fairness to the carabinieri and the prosecutor’s office ».
Claudio Mencacci, emeritus director of the Department of Neuroscience at Asst Fatebenefratelli-Sacco in Milan, told the Courier that it is possible that the woman acted on the basis of what is defined “Medea complex”. It is a murderous impulse that has like aims to make the former partner suffer: “I would rather speak of unpremeditated intentionality. Now it will be necessary to understand if the woman has borderline personality disorder. But we can assume – even according to the words of the relatives – that there was a sort of habit of mistreating her daughter, combined with strong emotional tension ».
