The huge Ioniq 7 will be Hyundai’s largest electric vehicle when it is released in two years.

Hyundai continues to expand its catalog of electric vehicles and, following the Ioniq 6 sedan, it is time to unveil a large SUV, the Ioniq 7, which will offer seven seats and come to hunt in the land of Tesla Models. X and Mercedes EQB. With a commercialization scheduled for 2024, it is therefore entirely possible that the Korean manufacturer will lift the veil on the final version a little later this year or early 2023. In the meantime, you can discover these illustrations imagined and produced by Avarvarii for the English newspaper Automatic espresso.

Unsurprisingly, the modular platform used will be the other Ioniq’s E-GMPs. Its wheelbase will undoubtedly be lengthened, which will improve habitability and will certainly reach a figure close to ridicule: the Ioniq 5 announces 3,000 mm, which is already 235 mm more than the Santa Fe, Hyundai’s current seven-seater SUV. !

This will also allow for the installation of a higher capacity battery, which is needed to sustainably move such a large car, with up to 100 kWh offered and a new chemistry that improves energy density by 10 to 20% as 2023 also corresponds at the indicated arrival of the fourth generation Hyundai batteries. Thus equipped, the Ioniq 7 could reach 650 km of autonomy.

The 800 V architecture of the E-GMP platform, which can now finally be recharged on Tesla’s V3 Superchargers open to other brands, will allow it to withstand DC charges of up to 350 kW, with 100 km recovered in five minutes. And perhaps there will also be the possibility of induction charging, the Korean manufacturer working on its development.

One thing is certain: with such external dimensions, an excessive wheelbase and a flat floor offered by the extremely fine battery, the Ioniq 7 will offer record-breaking habitability. The presentation of the interior should take up the “lounge” style of the Ioniq 5 adding a touch of luxury.

In terms of technical specifications, the SUV should ignore the propulsion versions and start directly with two engines for a total of 325 hp and 605 Nm sent to the four wheels. But it is entirely possible that it will also inherit the configuration of the future Ioniq 5 N to allow it to easily tow trailers or caravans.
