This Saturday, July 9, the Monegasque charity event brought together the highest leaders of the kingdom, on the theme of the 1920s.
Ball gowns, designer costumes, high-flying decorations … The Bal de la Rose made its big comeback this year. After more than two years of absence, the Monegasque social event dedicated to the Princess Grace Foundation took place this Saturday 9 July. A 66th edition organized by Princess Caroline of Hanover who was able to count on the presence of her brother, Prince Albert II of Monaco, but also of Carlotta Casiraghi, Alessandra of Hanover and many other crowned heads. It was the designer Christian Louboutin, inventor of the famous patent red sole shoes, who conceived the theme of the dance: “The 20s, the comeback”. Inspiration found in some of the creations worn by Rock celebrities.
The enigmatic video of Charlene of Monaco
Low bun, lacquered hair, Charlotte Casiraghi looked like she came out of the roaring twenties with her Chanel outfit. A white creation accompanied by a black satin bow that played with feathers and sequins. She had also bet on the glitter Tatiana Santo Domingo, Andrea Casiraghi’s wife. She wore a long champagne-colored Temperley London sheath dress. Finally, Caroline of Monaco wore a dress with “art deco” motifs accompanied by a black waistcoat with a jeweled brooch. An elegant trio that honored the Roaring Twenties.
At the Bal de la Rose, Dita Von Teese performed one of her famous striptease numbers in a huge glass of champagne. Present at the event, Janet Jackson or even Fanny Ardant had opted for another, no less impressive show to attend this performance. Beatrice Borromeo, wife of Pierre Casiraghi, opted for a sculptural dress embroidered with a train branded Dior while Alessandra di Hannover wore a white and red ball gown with a wide petticoat by Giambattista Valli. A creation that resembled … barley sugar.
