New York City has released a public service video outlining the steps residents should take in the event of a nuclear attack.

The video, posted Monday in NYC Emergency Management, an official New York City news site, details what to do in the event of a nuclear attack. The “big hit”, as the Americans call it, is therefore becoming an increasingly tangible threat on the other side of the Atlantic. In any case, the New York authorities do not take the risk lightly.

To cope with any eventuality, the New York City agency responsible for crisis and emergency management has therefore unveiled a guide dedicated to the inhabitants of the city in the event of a nuclear strike.

“Don’t ask me how or why. Just know that the worst has hit”, so begins the video, presented by a city host.

Then come several important steps to follow immediately after the attack.

“First step, take cover:“ Quickly enter a building ”. “Get in quickly and don’t stay in the car”.

New York City is preparing its citizens for potential nuclear attacks in a newly released PSA video. The New York Department of Emergency Management notes the low likelihood of an attack, but wants New Yorkers to know what to do.

The procedure continues as follows: “Stay indoors and close all doors and windows” … “Go to a basement if possible” … “Stay tuned for the latest information”….

New York City did not provide details on how or when a nuclear attack could occur. The city authority also said the likelihood of a nuclear attack in or around New York City remains “very low”.

But in this video, the city authorities want to take as many precautions as possible. So that New Yorkers know what to do in such a situation.

As proof that there is a risk of a nuclear conflict and that the context of the war in Ukraine, fueled by the tensions between Russia and the West, is raising the level of security by one step. A psychosis also brought about by Russia’s disproportionate reactions to the issue of a nuclear conflict.

It must be said that the concept of “nuclear terror” has been raised several times since Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. As in the media or in political life, atomic reprisals are part of the war rhetoric of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who in April warned in particular about a “serious” risk of nuclear war.
